Paloma blanca,
Too white a dove to dwell in this dusty garner
Slouched in a dwindling forest.
Paloma blanca,
Too elegant to scavenge clods in barren leas
With flocks of mottled kin.
Paloma blanca,
Radiant cherub soaring o’er this stony earth—
Purity in broken, sullied land.
Paloma blanca,
Embodied hope, perfection yet to come,
Grace within an undeserving place.
